To get a full picture of your child's progress in class, we need to consider their grades and behavior.
Their grades are based on two categories: practice (20%) and proficiency (80%).
To see your child's performance on practice assignments, you can check their grades in Canvas or Skyward. Aim to have no missing or incomplete assignments.
To see your child's performance on assessments, you can check Canvas or Skyward to see their overall grade on each assessment. Aim to score at least a 2 or higher on all assignments to pass the course with a C or higher. For a more detailed breakdown of which types of questions your child needs to review, they can visit me in office hours so we can review their test.
Regarding behavior in class, I usually send paper notes or ParentSquare messages home if behaviors rise to unacceptable levels. If you haven't been receiving any messages about behavior, this generally means that their in-class behavior is either excellent or at least satisfactory.
I publish full answer keys for all classwork assignments. You can find the answer keys in Canvas. If any assignments are missing answer keys, please let me know and I will get them published as soon as I can.
In order to take Version B of an assessment, students need to (1) have no missing or incomplete classwork assignments from their packet, and (2) review their previous attempt with me during office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-3:30 pm. Once they have completed their classwork and reviewed their test with me, they qualify to take Version B on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays from 3:00-3:30 pm.
In order to take Version C of an assessment, students need to (1) have no missing or incomplete DeltaMath assignments from the unit, and (2) review their previous attempt with me during office hours.
Yes. In addition to the learning targets and standards already included with each classwork packet, there are study guides posted in Canvas with blank copies and answer keys to classwork, vocabulary, videos, and the scoring rubric for the test. If there are any other resources that you would find helpful, please let me know!
